Audrey Hepburn Style: A Tribute on Her Birthday

{By Ellery Sadler}

It’s Audrey Hepburn’s birthday today! Most of us know about Audrey Hepburn for her famous sense of style. [Did you know her real name was Audrey Katherine Ruston?]

And not only was she incredibly beautiful and talented, she was a trained ballerina, loved to draw, could speak several languages [including Italian, German, English, Dutch, French and Spanish], and secretly danced to collect money for the Dutch resistance during WWII. As a young girl during WWII, Audrey faced many hardships, including the abrupt loss of her Nazi-sympathizing father after his unfaithfulness to her mother was discovered and severe malnutrition. [Audrey later located him and supported him financially until his death.] But she is most famous for her fashion, her style, her irresistible glamour.

The most iconic of stylish women, Audrey Hepburn’s legacy of beauty lives on.

Here is a look at the life and style of Audrey Hepburn.

Her sense of style began to show itself even at a young age, with her short hair and simple outfits.

As she grew older, Audrey Hepburn devoted herself to humanitarian efforts. President George H. W. Bush presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work with the UNICEF.  Age did not diminish her beauty or her style.

As she says, “The beauty of a woman grows with passing years.”
